-
Silent Survivor-hood
“I’m a survivor of sexual violence and even though nobody knows that I’m a survivor of sexual violence, I’m constantly thinking about how to tell someone because I have no community, no voice, and no resources to lean on.”
-
Truth Teller Territory
“My friends and loved ones know that I’m a survivor but it feels like no one understands what I’m going through. I search for answers online but there’s a serious lack of information-sharing amongst the survivor community. And to make matters even more challenging, I’m also dealing with naysayers and doubters.”
-
Community Change-Maker
“I want to use my voice and share my lived experiences to bring awareness in my community, but I struggle with imposter syndrome, safety concerns, and the consequences of being a voice in my community.”
Hi there!
I’m Karinah Guzmán. I’m an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) and over the last 30 years, I’ve traveled some really tough paths—starting as a Silent Survivor, then finding the courage to speak up and navigating Truth Teller Territory, and eventually becoming a Survivor Activist. It wasn’t easy, and there were so many moments when I thought I couldn’t keep going. But along the way, I built a toolkit of strategies and resources that helped me make it through. Let’s connect!
